Polymer PP

Polymer PP

What It Is & Characteristics

Low density polymer with excellent rigidity and environmental stress-crack resistance.

Polypropylene has a low density coupled with a reasonably high melting point making it an ideal polymer for light weighting purposes. It has excellent fatigue resistance and random copolymer versions are very clear. Polypropylene has high resistance to moisture vapor permeation.

Typical Uses

Because of its resistance to moisture vapor permeation, PP is used in many flexible food packaging applications as well as in rigid packaging for various goods. While its properties can be used in large parts, its sharp melting peak make thermoforming a challenge for machines that are not well controlled. Polypropylene’s fatigue resistance make it a great choice for "living hinge" applications such as flip top lids.

Sustainability. The Key To Future Value.

We have placed sustainability, environment, social and governance (ESG) issues at the very center of our focus. Not simply to comply with regulations and standards, but to drive true change that transforms tomorrow. This, we believe, is how real value is created.
