RoyalStat® expands on the legacy of our popular Royalite® line of flame retardant sheets but focuses on static control and managing electrostatic discharge (ESD).

Why RoyalStat®?

John Vandeven, Spartech’s Chief Technology Officer, explains, "The compound we extrude is a conductive or anti-stat material all the way through, compared to other metal or wood products that simply use a conductive spray on top. With RoyalStat®, the anti-stat or conductive properties are inherent in the material and live in the product forever. They don't wear off."

Additionally, RoyalStat® extruded materials can be thermoformed and processed into parts—and by using a thermoforming operation, customers can reduce the costs and complexities of traditional injection molding. Thermoforming is a cost-efficient, flexible, and adaptable process that better supports changes to design requirements. It's a good fit for startup companies or small-scale production runs where minimizing upfront costs is paramount.

Sustainability is also a key differentiator with RoyalStat®. Customers can send the trim (scrap) back to Spartech®, where we will reuse the product to reduce waste, minimizing our carbon footprint.

RoyalStat® Product Details and Specifications

The RoyalStat® line includes twelve products, ranging from anti-static to conductive materials. Featured among these is conductive product R64, which is utilized extensively in ESD applications. R64 is carbon-loaded to provide the conductivity essential for preventing electrostatic discharge, so it is available in black color only.

Royalite® RoyalStat® R64 Thermoplastic Sheet

This high molecular weight polyethylene sheet is electrically conductive with excellent thermoformability. Typical application include dissipation of electrostatic charges, trays, IC chip carriers, and fuel container lids.
