Crawford Indiana
Welcome to Spartech Crawford
Crawford’s first product may have been small in scope, but it was mighty: a waterproof, indestructible three-ring binder. The plant’s first customer was the U.S. Navy, and before long, established itself as a major player in the U.S. information packaging market. The team at Crawford pioneered the development of inks that adhered to plastic substrates and then expanded their product lines to include folders, tote boxes, binders, and signage.
Traditional production includes materials such as polyethylene sheets, but Crawford's team is tight-knit and entrepreneurial-minded, specializing in custom solutions — working with customers to define needs and building products from the ground up. They also have an uncanny knack for anticipating those needs before they're even articulated.

Get to Know Crawford
The Crawford facility is located in Crawfordsville in Montgomery County in west central Indiana. The city is the county seat of Montgomery County. The building was built in 1959, and the Crawford plant has become a well-established employer in the county. Production is evenly split into extrusion and a variety of converting processes. As the company transitioned from the print to the digital age it has focused more of its efforts on specialty promotional items such as pens and mugs, and specialty custom inserts for the food packaging industry.
Today, the Crawford plant is still located in its 1959 legacy building. In addition to brand promotional items, its extruded plastics are also used in fast food menu signage, veterinary surgical cones, and license plate holders. The plant’s success can be attributed to its ability to identify and anticipate market needs, creating in-demand products across a variety of industries and applications.
