Spartech's high barrier sheet products can be used in a wide variety of critical packaging applications. Common uses include the following:

Aseptic Packaging
A growing packaging process that sterilizes food products by destroying harmful bacteria and microorganisms through a closely monitored sterilization process.

Hot Fill Packaging
A popular filling process used for packaging high acid foods such as Applesauce, where the product is heated to temperatures of 185°F to 200°F, deposited into the containers, sealed & cooled in a water bath.

Controlled & Modified Atmosphere Packaging
A revolutionary process that controls or modifies the atmosphere of the package with specially designed barrier films and substrates.

Retort Packaging
Retort is a cooking process that utilizes heat & pressure to cook food in a sealed container. It is a demanding process on containers which are subject to water bath temperatures of 251°F to 270°F during the retort process.
