At Spartech, creative combinations of coating, embossing, and laminating processes provide choices unmatched in the industry. The lamination process is frequently used for film-to-film adherence, and backings can be applied to films to provide a better bond to certain substrates. Over-lamination of clear films is undertaken for protection, appearance, or multi-layer construction requirements.
Laminate surfaces can be coated for subsequent operations, such as the application of materials for UV resistance, surface durability, release capability, or to prepare surfaces for inks and adhesives. Spartech's coating process ensures consistent application of all materials and a full range of rich colors.
Surfacing is achieved by embossing techniques as well as by calendering and printing methods. From wood grain ticks to simple textures to suede-like finishes, Spartech uses simple mechanical applications as well as advanced optical techniques to achieve a variety of surface effects.
Wood Grain Prints and Decorative Laminates
Spartech is noted for exceptional, realistic wood grain and natural stone designs which are reproduced on rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible films to meet a wide range of applications. Spartech's designs are also printed on paper, offering thousands of finish options to meet the widest variety of needs in the market today.
Thermoformable Laminates (Decorative Cap)
Transforming a shaped or formed part into a functional element with great aesthetic appeal is a process for which Spartech is renowned. The films we produce are laminated to a substrate material to meet a specific design application, producing a finished product with smooth contours and no seams or joints to separate or peel. Design prints are applied to materials such as acrylic, vinyl, styrene, ABS, and special films - each requiring a special process. KoradŽ acrylic film is available for superior weatherability, printability, and embossability.
