Fiberglass Substitutes

By utilizing the following advanced materials as an alternative to fiberglass, manufacturers are reducing the weights of their products and eliminating the VOC's emitted during the fiberglass production process.


SP 9010 General Purpose ABS SP 9010 is utilized in vehicle transportation applications to replace fiberglass materials typically reducing weight by about 20%. The use of this material also eliminates all VOC emission issues.



Formalloy HG This advanced material is gaining acceptance as a fiberglass replacement in large part applications requiring durability and flex modulus. Formalloy's low specific gravity allows for a weight savings of 25% verses identical parts made with fiberglass. Utility trailers and RV front caps are two products that transformed to Formalloy HG.
