Korad® Acrylic Polymer
Korad® Acrylic Polymer is a specially designed, proprietary multipolymer composed of several acrylic monomers. It is inherently flexible due to its molecular structure and not simply as a result of "mixing" impact modifiers with PMMA resin. The Korad resin, which is available for solution coating as well as pellets for coextrusion and films, is exclusive to Spartech Polymer Extruded Products, Inc. on a worldwide basis.
Korad Acrylic Polymer itself has exceptional color stability under long-term exposure to UV light, visible light, moisture, heat and cold; thus, it is the preferred surfacing material for ABS, HIPS, PVC, PMMA , Polycarbonate and Melamine in weather related environments worldwide.
A Korad Surface is:
- Printable ( Bathtubs, Spas, Countertops, Tub Surrounds, Wall Panels)
- Paintable (Shutters, Building Panels - No Priming Necessary)
- Fungus/Mildew Resistant (Doors,Windows, Siding)
- Abrasion Resistant (Tub Surrounds, Luggage, Tractor Roofs, Dashboards)
- Bondable (Insulation, Barrier Foams, Sailboats)
- Detergent Resistent (Sanitaryware)
Korad Acrylic Polymer was introduced in 1962. It has been sold commercially in film form for over 35 years. Its acceptance as the premier surfacing material for thermoplastic parts is legendary. Its track record of performance worldwide over these 35 years sets it uniquely apart from alternative surfacing materials as the only surfacing system possessing a real world proven performance history.
